October Story Circle w/ Jan Buley!

St. John’s Storytelling invites you to join us for our October Story Circle at the Battery Cafe! $5 cover, get there early to get a seat!

This open mic style event is great for storytellers and for those who love listening to stories! All storytellers will receive a complimentary non alcoholic beverage from The Battery Cafe!

Our host for this event is the wonderful Jan Buley!

A little bit about Jan:

Addicted to teaching and learning, Jan Buley shares her love for literacies and drama education with teacher candidates in Memorial University’s Faculty of Education. Jan’s Ph.D. from the Steinhardt School, New York University, examined the assumptions, beliefs and contradictions of family engagement in schools. She believes that curiosity and finding beauty are necessary for survival and she is passionate about celebrating the voices of those who are marginalized. She is enormously grateful for the cooking skills of her partner David. They are both happily owned by Nellie, a border(less) collie and two cats who, (on most days), wish that the dog would simply disappear into thin air.
