A bit about Christina:

Christina Smith teaches and performs on the violin, cello and viola da gamba in a variety of styles, including classical, Renaissance, and traditional folk. Among her teachers and mentors were Newfoundland fiddlers Emile Benoit and Rufus Guinchard, and the Japanese pedagogue Shin’ichi Suzuki. She has been a collector of Newfoundland dance music since the early 1980s, and shares this music by teaching it, recording it, publishing it and writing about it. In 2018 she received the Senate of Canada 150th Anniversary Medal for her work preserving traditional dance music of Newfoundland and Labrador. As musical gifts often come wrapped in stories, she occasionally masquerades as a storyteller.

She has several Cds and music books which you can find on the website Inshorepublications.ca.
