The St. John's Folk Arts Council is proud to present the second St. John's Storytelling Festival - a five day celebration of the art and tradition of storytelling. Storytellers from around the city, across the Island and the Mainland come together to share stories for listeners of all ages. Join us and see why storytelling is one of our most entertaining and enduring forms of expression.

Stories, Songs and Ballads at the Ship

Anita Best, Ron Hynes, Pat Byrne and host Jean Hewson conduct a panel discussion from 7 to 9 pm about storytelling, story songs and traditional ballads. Then, from 9:30 to midnight, the panelists become the featured performers for our weekly folk night.

Transformations and Turning Points

A storytelling concert featuring Mariella Bartelli, Darka Erdelji, Kiersten Hill and Stan Nochasak. Hosted by Ford Elms.
Advanced sales of 5-day passes are available for $30 at O'Brien's Music Store and Bennington Gate. These passes will get you into any and all of the evening and daytime performances over the course of the festival, however does NOT include participation in the storytelling workshops being held Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. You need to pre-register with the SJFAC office and pay an additional fee to participate in the workshops.
