We have a very special October Story Circle for you tomorrow at the Battery Cafe at 7pm! This open mic style event is great for storytellers and for those who love listening to stories! Each teller will receive one beverage courtesy of QV or a non alcoholic beverage courtesy of the Battery Cafe.
$5 cover, and the event will start at 7pm.
This SC will be hosted by the lovely Karin Murray-Bergquist!
Karin Murray-Bergquist is a PhD student in folklore, working on a project to map the ghost ship legends of Newfoundland and Labrador. Along with these studies, Karin is an actor, artist, and writer, currently diving headlong into a radio production of Dracula, and scheming to write a comedy about supernatural urban planners.
Also, as a special guest from Labrador, we will have Mina Campbell sharing some stories!
Mina Campbell is an Inuk woman from North West River, Labrador. She has worked as the curator of the Labrador Interpretation Centre, a cultural centre representing Labrador’s cultures, since 1998. Campbell was raised by her grandparents, who instilled in her their traditional heritage and lifestyle. Campbell practises many traditional hunting, fishing and land-based activities, and she is interested in teaching and passing on her skills while continuing to learn more.
