SJS Celebrates World Storytelling Day, a Free Online Zoom Event!

SJS are very pleased to announce that we will be celebrating World Storytelling Day 2025 with an online Zoom event! We are excited to see all of you from near and afar!

World Storytelling Day is a global celebration of the art of oral storytelling. The theme this year is “Deep Water”.

If you would like to tell a story at this event, we ask that you keep it between 5 and 10 minutes. To sign up as a teller, please email us at storytellingstjohns@gmail.com – Space is very limited, so we urge you to act soon!

Joining us as host this year is Harry Ingram!

A bit about Harry:

Harry Ingram was born and raised in Arnold’s Cove Placentia Bay, or as Ray Guy would call it, “That far greater bay”. Recitations have always been a core element of Harry’s upbringing, which he now performs in various venues. He’s known to appear alongside Dave Paddon, Dave Penney, and Hubert Furey as part of the popular “Stage to Stage” group. He’s also a part of the comedy, recitation duo “The Liar’s Bench Show” with his cohort Ken Parsons. Harry writes his own original material, however, he also enjoys keeping alive the works of greats such as Leo O’Brien, John Joe English and others.
